Doug Owston Correctional Centre is an Australian prison under construction in Holtze, Northern Territory, Australia.
The correctional centre situated 22km SE of Darwin, will be a multi-classification prison with a planned capacity of 800 prisoners. The new correctional facilities will deliver education and training programs, rehabilitation and treatment services to prisoners. It will include a 36-bed mental health centre and horticulture area for food production.
Construction of the new precinct will be delivered through a Public Private Partnership. The work is expected to start in 2011/12 and the prison is planned to be completed in 2014.[1]
